Long time no update, I know its been a while! Sorry fellaz! Been a lot of changes at home lately and i’m trying to get adjusted to my new set up! Ive been mad busy with the screening side of things so look for more t’s in the web store in the next week, there should be lots of cool stuff in that section soon! Hey Dudez!

Just an update here! Its been mad busy at the Absent house the last month or so. We just added a bunch of patches to the web store for everyone. You can expect a lot more shirts in the future, we’ve been really kicking it into high gear with the printing lately. We’re screening 600 killer two color Wormeaters 7″ covers for Deep Fry Daniel from Sorry State Records. The vinyl should be in for those so be sure to hop on over to his website and check those out!!

   The new Total Wreck 7″ is still going strong, they’re headed out with Crooked Teeth for a mini tour of the northeast! Definitely check them out if you’re in that area, if you’re lucky you might be able to catch them with Guilt Trip for a few of those shows!

   In other newz…Kollapse fest was insane!!!  Kollapse fest party never ends! Im still trying to get my brain right. Good luck to Riisteyt & SSR on tour. Be sure to pick up one of their gnarly tour shirts we just printed if you’re lucky enough to catch them on their wild excursion. Stay tuned for more updates as they come! Hey Ragers!!!

Just a quick update here! I just lowered some of the prices for some Absent releases, added a special, (which i was supposed to do a while ago) & started making the Absent myspace / facebook BS. So ADD US! The Total Wreck 7″ is doing well, still have a few of the LTD color version w/ alt cover left in the store.

We also just finished our most recent screen printing project for Feel It records. They’re a brand new label from the dude that does the “Got Myself” HC punk fanzine. The 1st release is gonna be a LACKEY DIE 7″ reissue. Actually, it was never put on vinyl so i guess its not a reissue. Anyway, this stuff is gonna be killer…. All covers hand screened by yours truly. Hopefully by the next update, we’ll have the vinyl in the store!! If you’ve never heard of Lackey Die, its not surprising, they’re super obscure 80’s HC punk from good old Charlottesville VA. 1/2 of the songs were recorded at inner ear & the other 1/2 were done at flood zone in rva. I can’t hype this enough! A real piece of punk history is on the way!! Look for it soon!

Okay dudes! The total wreck 7″ is out now!!! Just in time for the record release show tonight!! The color vinyl w/ the yellow cover will only be available @ shows & through web order so get em now!!! I’ve only got 50 im putting in the webstore so when they’re gone, they’re gone! I’m short on time, new update to follow soon!!

So its been a month or so since the last update so here’s the scoop! Total Wreck tests are in, what a killer. This 7″ is loud as hell and I can’t get it outta my head. Real cool stuff here, 100 will be on color vinyl with an alternate cover, so be so be sure to get one of those cuz im sure they’re gonna go quick! We’ll be getting everything in time for thier release show on Feb 19 in Charlottesville, so if you’re in the area be sure to be there!

On a side note, we’re now printing 7″ foldover covers, LP foldovers and 11×17 posters in addition to the t-s! So if your interested shoot me an email & Ill send you the order form! Right now we’re doing free shipping in the US for screenprinting orders, now you cant beat that!!! Im in the process of making the form downloadable from the site, so once we get that running ill let you know. Stay tunded in the next few weeks for another update!

Is that from Platoon or is that Full metal jacket? Dont’ know why thats stuckin in my head. Yeah…anyway…onto the news! Total Wreck has wraped everything up in the studio and I’ve sent off the tracks to be mastered. I’m really looking foward to this one! Its gonna be 5 all new songs  + 1 from the demo. If you havent got the demo yet, go to the store, i’ve got maybe 1 or two left still. Its a ripper. Im thinking it should be mid to late January as far as a release date goes. So be on the lookout for that! I am adding a few specials to the store, the 1st is the “Absent Family Super Fun Pack. ” This consists of 4 Absent releases (2 LP’s + 2 7″s) all for $20! You cant beat that anywhere, I don’t know how long ill be able to do this so get it while you can! Also, I’m continuing the free 7″ giveaway for new store customers, so get some while you can! More specials to be announced as I think em up!

So we finally got the Guilt Trip Tests! Everything sounds great and we should at last have all the records here in a few weeks. If you’re as psyched as I am you’ll want to get one of these tests. I’ve got one or two here I could get rid of  so if you want one, drop me a line! Also this pressing will be including FREE DIGITAL DOWNLOADS  so when you buy the record, you can have the vinyl for home and mp3’s on your ipod / computer. Just one more way to make the deal sweeter.

  Also, here is something to read for everyone whose been sitting on the fence on this one, the Empty Grave “Abandoned” LP got a awesome review in Razorcake #52. Almost fell outta my chair when I read it! Check it out below!

Empty Grave – Abandoned: LP

Oh my god. What kind of alternate universe did this band come from? Who the fuck are these guys? Whatever smoking, other-worldly elixer they’ve managed to imbibe, it’s apparently given em near magical powers and the ability to channel everything that was cool and potent about 80’s punk. I mean, I’m gonna drop some names here, okay? And let it be known that Abandoned is, in all seriousness, when taken purely as sonic artifact and without any of the nostalgic connections inherent in such name dropping, nearly or just as good as the following bands and records: Attitude Adjustment’s American Paranoia . Cryptic Slaughter’s Convicted. Christ on Parade’s The Mind is a Terrible Thing. Are you getting me yet? Seamless and awesome and raw and totally unpretentious. If the album runs the risk of sounding dated, fuck it- presonally, I could not give a flying shit if you wear your influences on your sleve as long as you bring something solid to the table. And I’m telling you, Empty Grave perfectly captures the audible equivalent of the bad old days: two terms under Reagan, Cold War terror, us verses them. Then they condense it into one 45 RPM LP beautifully entrenched in punk rock from, say, 1986. Then they resoundingly kick you in the ass with it, over and over again. It takes a lot for me to give a glowing review, but i’ll say this: If you care at all for straight-foward 1980’s punk rock, I just cannot reccomend this enough. Worth seeking out.

   Awesome shit! And last but not least, Total Wreck is set to go into the studio at the end of the month! I’ll keep you posted, I cant wait till we get these  songs on vinyl! It’s definitely gonna be one of the best ones yet!

Okay!

I know its been a while since the last update, Sarja and I have been super busy and haven’t had much time to put forth. We’ve had two of our friends pass away in the last week. As many of you might know our good friend Alex Trough, was killed on his way back from Distortion Days in Minneapolis when the car was hit by a semi truck. He was thrown from the car and killed. For those of you that knew Alex and want to donate money to his family, Shrevan has set up a paypal account to cover funeral expenses.

   Anyway, we just added a few records to the store and put up  a new section for custom screen printing. For those of you that know us, we’ve been doing this for a while now in small orders. However we just got a major equipment upgrade and are ready to roll out “Absentees”. Contact us for a custom quote, or take a look at one of the packages we have in the web store. We’ll work with you to get whatever you want done, just drop us a line and let us know. If it’s flat we can print it & if you can find anyone cheaper, we’ll do our best to beat their prices! So get in touch!

   On the other end of things, we got the Guilt Trip reference lacquer in. Everything sounds awesome, Dave at lucky lacquers did an excellent job as usual. Everything should be at the plant shortly so we can finally get rolling with that. Hey Everyone!

Just an update to let everyone know what’s going on. 1st off i just put a new special up for the webstore, all new customers will recieve a free 7″ with thier 1st order. This is the first of a few things i’ll be doing over the next few months to promote the store and try to hook everyone up with some sweet vinyl at the same time.

   Just added a few imports from europe to the store including the new Organism LP, Idle Hands LP, Offenders 7″, Amoba 7″. Also got some Human Mess LP’s & few Demo tapes from Total Wreck, Hand made & numbered out of 100. I’m making guilt trip & total wreck shirts in the next week or so for their tours, so i should have some to ad to the store for yah! Look for another update in a week or so.
